Green is our favorite color at Hanky Panky!  From the workplace to product and sourcing we make the very best attempt to be as environmentally responsible as we can.

Some of our efforts include the following:
  •       Hanky Panky has been manufacturing in the Northeast area of the USA since 1977. This saves time, fuel, and shipping costs, drastically reducing the generation of CO2. It also allows us to monitor both the quality of our products in the factories and the working conditions.
  •     100% of the fabrics and trims used to make our Signature Lace thongs and panties are knitted in the USA. Even the Supima® cotton fibers used to make the lining are grown in the USA.  Supima® cotton has a smaller environmental impact than using foreign-grown cottons. According to, “The implementations of new technologies allow U.S. cotton producers to minimize the impact on the environment by using less water, land and energy.”[1]
  •         Our packaging concepts are executed with 100% recycled paper and board and are conceived as keepsake items for an extended life. We also strive to make our packaging and shipping materials easily recyclable.
  •          We purchase only 100% recycled paper for all printers and copy machines, and re-use the back of photocopies for notes and sketches.
  •         Instead of water coolers with plastic bottles, we installed filters to purify NYC tap water, and each employee is provided with a BPA-free reusable water cup.
  •      Instead of paper towels, employees are encouraged to each keep their own reusable towel.

How You Can Help
  •        We encourage our customers to treat their Hanky Panky treasures with care, so that they will last a long time. Hand washing in cool water and hanging to dry not only saves water and energy, it also prolongs the life of delicate lingerie. Heat, strong agitation, and alkaline detergents break down the stretch fibers used in our Signature Laces, and cause them to age prematurely.
  •        We encourage all our customers to Wear, Donate, Recycle all their clothing and textile goods.  Follow this link to find a textile recycling center near you:
