Today is International Women’s Day, but at Hanky Panky, we believe in celebrating women every day. Our two trailblazing founders, Gale Epstein and Lida Orzeck, have been paving the way for women in the intimates business since 1977. When we asked our leading ladies what IWD means to them, they shared:
“We were a part of a small group of female founders at the time challenging male-dominated corporations. We brought to the intimate apparel world a female point of view in styling, fit and comfort. That alone was empowering and a model to encourage more women to take chances. It was a very different world at that time. Without internet or financial backing for advertising, we depended very much on literal word-of-mouth.”
Over forty-four years later, Gale and Lida continue to inspire us along with generations of women. They believe in women’s power to create positive change and lead by example. “Women leaders today are in a position to effect badly needed social change and should be assertive about leveraging their voices to change policy.”
Happy International Women’s Day to you and all the inspiring women in your life.
P.S. Wondering what styles Gale and Lida are wearing? Gale can't be without an original rise thong and Lida loves a boyshort.
